This book divided into nine chapters, the text begins with a discussion on Newtonian mechanics, from where it goes on to analyze at length the Lagrangian and the Hamiltonian formulations along with the Poisson bracket, canonical transformations and Hamilton–Jacobi theory. Separate chapters are dedicated to the two-body central force problem, phase space dynamics, theory of small oscillations, dynamics of rigid bodies and reference frames. Finally, the text discusses relativistic mechanics including the Lagrangian and the Hamiltonian formulation of relativistic mechanics.
